Built around a 48mm serrated (ribbed) outer tube, the MP9742 is specifically designed to minimise movement within the clamp. The anti-vibration ribbed design prevents slippage under heavy loads, providing a more secure installation than conventional smooth-tube jockey wheels. Combined with a heavy-duty ball race thrust bearing, the winding mechanism operates smoothly with minimal effort, even when supporting substantial trailer nose weights.
For maximum durability, the MP9742 incorporates a grease nipple lubrication point, allowing periodic maintenance to extend bearing life and maintain smooth operation. An integrated R-clip and retaining chain prevents accidental handle rotation whilst travelling, while the enhanced clear zinc-plated finish delivers over 300 hours of red rust resistance during salt spray testing, providing excellent protection against corrosion.
The jockey wheel is fitted with a large 200 x 57mm rubber tyre, offering excellent manoeuvrability across hardstanding, gravel and campsite surfaces. It provides a 230mm height adjustment range with a 140mm handle extension for comfortable operation.
