Representing the ever more popular Stargrove Range, the Vango Stargrove II Air 450 differs from its poled counterpart as this one uses groundbreaking AirBeam® Technology to quickly inflate and support your tent in harsh conditions. Offering a dividable 280cm wide Nightfall Bedroom, spacious living space and an enclosed front canopy, there really isn't much more you could ask for when deciding on which tent to purchase for your family or friends. The Tent itself is over 2m's tall leaving plenty of headroom once inside but also not being too large as to take away from the sleek aesthetics that this Herbal Green Tent is offering. Plenty of support for the stability of the tent is provided because 4 inflatable beams are used in the design to create a sturdy tent in the harshest conditions. It also has the monumental TBS®II Tension Band System for extra support during high speeds of wind. The Stargrove is great at providing large amounts of space via its two rooms, enclosed front canopy and side canopy (side canopy poles purchased separately) and is more than durable for holiday or weekend usage. For people looking to purchase a spacious tent but are reluctant to over-spend, this tent falls nicely into a great price range and doesn't lack any features from the carefully thought-out design. It also has an edge over its sister product by using an inflation method rather than poles.
The advantage of the Vango Stargrove II Air 450 is that its structure is made from air not poles. Four AirBeam®'s are used in the design which supports the main structure and can also be used in the extremely quick inflation process. Using the included free double action pump, you can effortlessly inflate the system via the AirSpeed® Valve located on the main beam. This valve is locked at all times unless it is punctured by an attached pump. You must unlock it to allow it deflate meaning you can get an accurate PSI when pitching your tent, and have a fast packing time because you don't have to waste time fiddling with poles. These air-powered supports are just as rigid and reliable as your traditional poles. They are Pre-Angled and can resist a lot of pressure from the environment. To aid the beams in extreme conditions, a Tension Band System is in place. TBS®II is a system that uses 2 adjustable straps that connect at the center of your main beam. These can be tensioned to suit the needs of your environment. When done, they will form an internal triangular shape which is the ideal shape for a tent. When gusts of wind strike the tent, the bands will keep the poles tensioned and the tent will remain upright. Overall, the AirBeam® structure is a step up from the Stargrove 450's poled design which makes it ideal for people that want to be able to pitch and pack their tent as efficiently as possible.
Space is plentiful in the Vango Stargrove II Air 450 as its extensive general living space is not the only area that offers more than enough room for a group of 4 campers. One 280cm Bedroom can be used as a single sleeping area or can be divided into two 140cm Bedrooms using a middle wall which adds extra privacy for families or groups of campers that do not wish to sleep in the same room. The Bedrooms themselves use Nightfall Technology developed by Vango to eliminate early morning sunlight, allowing you to rest to your own sleeping pattern without letting the sunrise dictate when you wake. Inside the bedrooms are storage pockets near the corners which can hold your essential items off the ground. One wide opening is the entrance to the bedrooms and doesn't require any step over for easy access, the King Sized Bedrooms will not disappoint or disturb you when you decide to unwind from a great day of camping. When you wake up refreshed from a good nights sleep, you will want to enter the Living Space, this area is more than capable of hosting 4 campers as it provides added space for every individual, (note the '50' in Stargrove 450) with a 3m wide space. Diamond Clear Windows are located on the side of the tent which allows the maximum amount of natural light to brighten up your morning, however, if you wish to have more privacy, every window has its own Toggled Privacy Curtain which can completely or partially cover your window, eliminating all light sources from entering your interior.
Perhaps you'd like to relax with your morning coffee in the open air? You can step out to the enclosed front canopy for a completely covered area with enough space for chairs and even a table if you wish. This enclosed area also has Windows on either side with their own curtains and an optional footprint is available to cover the grass floor and further extend your dry living space. The front entrance has a large door that can be opened to any size you wish with a double zip system. If you wish to have an enclosed area to add to your living space you can close the door and use this area as a storage area for your wet kit, bikes or clothing. Alternatively, you can utilise the side-door that is located in the main living area of the Vango Stargrove II Air 450, this is a roll-away door that has more than its traditional use at its disposal. Providing you purchase separate King Poles, the door can be unraveled and used as an open canopy area to increase the ease of access when entering your tent, or just to use as extra cover if you encounter light rainfall. For those looking for extra comfort underfoot, we would advise the Vango fleece carpet, which is compatible to the Stargrove II 450 living space - click here to view.
Sentinel Active Fabric is used to create the flysheet for the Vango Stargrove II Air 450, it is a highly waterproof material that has a Hydrostatic Head of 3000mm HH. To protect from UV Degradation, a special UV Light Protection Layer is woven into the fabric to aid colour retention when faced with extensive sunlight, this helps safeguard the tents flysheet so it doesn't degrade after extensive use. To maintain a waterproof interior, a Fully Sewn-In Groundsheet is included, this is a Waterproof PE Sheet that is designed to be hardwearing to resist ripping and damage from the floor. The Stargrove 450 Air has a Built-In Storm Skirt to block out bugs and cold draughts from outside. All fabrics used in this tent have been fully Wind and Rain Tested to ensure you and your family have the best protected from the elements at all times. The tent is also Fire Retardant to comply with European Safety Standards EN5912.
Some other great features to mention would be the smaller but still important details. For example, a convenient Lantern Hanging Point is located at the top of the tent near the TBS®II for lighting during nighttime, or if you wish to use another lighting solution such as a Flexible Light Strip product, you can do this by using the handy velcro stips that follow the beam down to the floor of the tent, this is where another neat feature is located - a Cable Entry point. This allows you to have mains access without the need for a door open at all times, this is a zipped entry with touch fastener tidies. AirZone Ventilation Panels are located at high and low positions to not only give an airy environment but to reduce condensation too which is essential for a clean and long-lasting tent. Another Ventilation solution is the Mesh Flysheet Door which not only lets air in but keeps bug out. Finally, every Stargrove comes with an Easypack Carry Bag that has an oversized opening for a fast pack time, it uses 15% more material for 50% more volume.
If you're looking for a tent that is just as durable as the rest but has a more convenient pitching process that saves heaps of time, you should choose the Vango Stargrove II Air 450, it comes in a stunning natural Herbal Green colour and has all of the features you could ask for at this price point. Speaking of which... £450! for such a feature-packed tent, this is the obvious choice for any family of 4 or a couple seeking a spacious tent with ample living area.
