The Tailgate Hub Low is brand new for 2021 and is also part of a new product line for Vango - Rear Attachment Awnings. Although it's a fresh item for Vango's Product Selection, it's no outlier when it comes to the traditional high-quality standards you expect to see from Vango. This Awning is a great choice for solo or duo campers that want a stylish and durable awning for their weekend trips. It can be used on the rear or side of your vehicle due to its flexible construction. The Hub has been designed for short periods of usage as it is aimed for Touring usage rather than long-term, seasonal or static use over larger time scales as leaving it deployed to your vehicle will accelerate UV degradation if it's in direct UV light which isn't covered under warranty.
Setting up the awning is simple as it only requires effortless attachment with pegging straps at the front of your vehicle and the tunnel area. This allows the awning to fit perfectly to your vehicle without the need for Kador Rails. Saying this, if you wish to use traditional roof bar attachments you can, as Kador, a sleeve for a pole and a clamp are included with this product. If you wish to drive away for your awning you can, it doesn't need the tailgate to be open to support the structure thus you may drive away from your awning to explore for the day, without worrying about pitching/packing your awning.
The material used is Vango's Sentinel Active Fabric, this is a highly waterproof and lightweight fabric which can provide a Hydrostatic Head of 3000mm HH and is also really easy to clean. The 70D Polyester is extremely durable and comes with Fully Factory Taped Seams, ensuring a watertight seal. The Fabric has a UPF30 UV Protection Factor, this means, (if used as intended) your awning will have a long-lasting life and stay strong during your holidays. The fabric also meets Fire Retardant Standards ISO5912.
To maintain such high standards, PowerFlex® Fibreglass Poles are used in the structure to create a strong and reliable structure. Should the weather change swiftly, you can rest assured that your awning will withstand harsh conditions. The poles may be extremely durable, but they're also amazingly lightweight, meaning pack weight is reduced significantly compared to traditional poles. It also worth mentioning that Experienced Pole Awnings from Vango are included with a Pre Attached 6mm Kador Strip, Over vehicle webbing straps, Roof bar Attachment Tabs, a Sleeve for both a Pole and Clamp, Steel Pegs with their own Carry Bag as well as an overall Carry Bag with Compression Straps for controlling the pack size.
Accessibility is important, that's why Easy Access Doors are used in the design to provide flat entry for wheelchairs, prams etc. to more easily enter the awning with less hassle. There is a Mesh Front Door fitted with an internal Mesh Fly Screen for a bug-free ventilation solution. As well as this, Two Doors are located in the Tunnel Attachment for advantageous access to your vehicle. This Tunnel Attachment is adjustable using a Strap, this helps you collect any excess material allowing a much better fit to your vehicle. Diamond Clear Windows are used to maximise the amount of light entering your awning providing a bright and airy environment. However, if you require more privacy, Toggled Curtains are installed which can be simply rolled out or away with ease. If natural light has disappeared yet you still want visibility for your interior, convenient Lantern Hanging Points are located around your awning which lets you easily position your light(s).
